Havan (Sacred Fire Ceremony) – Every Saturday

Saturday 12 November, 2022 - Saturday 28 December, 2024

Havan is a traditional fire ceremony to bring balance & healing to our environment as well as to ourselves.

Most Saturday Evenings 5:00-7:00pm.

As spaces are limited, bookings are essential before visiting Anahata. You can book in by emailing: yoga@anahata-retreat.org.nz or calling us at: 03 525 7587

Every Saturday, in our yoga tradition all over the world, 108 rounds of the Maha Mrityunjaya Healing Mantra is chanted during the practice of Havan, an ancient Fire Ceremony, using mantra and fire for means of transformation.

This particular mantra is chanted to offer healing to people in need and to assist those who are wanting to let go of attachments. We read the names of all those we know in need of healing before making offerings to the fire with those names in our hearts.

Come experience this powerful practice of healing & transformation, followed by uplifting vibrations at our heart-opening Kirtan. Check out our blogpost on how the practice of Kirtan can be used to develop Bhakti.

Everybody is welcome to join us and no previous experience is necessary.

Mahamrityunjaya Mantra

Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam Urvarukamiva Bandhanan Mrityor Mukshiya Maamritat

Meaning

OM. We worship and adore you, O three-eyed one, O Shiva.
You are sweet gladness, the fragrance of life, who nourishes us,
restores our health, and causes us to thrive.
As, in due time, the stem of the cucumber weakens,
and the gourd if freed from the vine, so free us
from attachment and death, and do not withhold immortality.
